Plea for Help with MA Translation & Interpreting Review Project

Since June 2015 my blog has featured guest posts by colleagues who have completed an MA in translation and/or interpreting. What started out as just an idea to provide future MA students with useful information has grown into a huge project that is larger than I am, which is why I’m now appealing for help.

If you are interested in this project and might have some time to spare between jobs, then please read on.

I’m looking for people who can help me in various ways:

1. Find guest writers, anyone who has completed an MA at any university relatively recently. Many of the people that have taken part in this series so far had never written a blog post before and largely enjoyed the experience. It also gives them some exposure.

2. Edit the posts. I don’t go in for heavy editing for the blog, but as English is neither the source nor the target language for some guest authors, the texts do need a bit of editing before publication.

3. Research courses at universities and write a short summary (along the lines already on my blog) for publication on the description pages (currently two: European and Non-European).

4. Share the posts. I fully understand that colleagues who have already completed MAs or are not intending to do one are not interested in reading endless reviews on MAs, but please share the posts on social media so they can reach the right people. The Twitter hashtag is: #t9nMA

What’s in it for you?

Besides my eternal gratitude, I’ll credit you on the blog with links to your website/social media profiles for any contribution you make.

For me, this project has always been about helping colleagues and giving back to the translation community. But, unfortunately, I just don’t have as much time to spend on it as I would like or as it needs.

Please join this group on Facebook, contact me on Twitter, comment below or send me an email (address in the right margin) if you’d like to help me out. I’ll post specific requests in the FB group as and when they arise or contact you via Twitter/email. Thank you!
