Joint Master Programme in Translation –  Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski, Sofia, Bulgaria

Language combinations: Bulgarian-English, Bulgarian-French, Bulgarian-English-French

The programme aims to equip students with knowledge of the local and international market of translation services and IT resources. The vast majority of the compulsory courses are taught in Bulgarian. The wide range of elective courses allow students to specialise in different subject areas, such as medical, legal, economics, humanities, socio-political and literary translation. The course includes an internship at a translation agency where students can gain practical training in a real-life working environment working with experienced professionals.

The programme focuses mainly on written translation, although students are also afforded the opportunity to acquire initial skills in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting.

Duration: three semesters (full-time)

Disclaimer: I try to update the MA pages as often as I can. However, some of the information about available courses and their content may no longer be valid. Neither is this an exhaustive list of all the translation and/or interpreting master’s degrees on offer in the country.
