These abbreviations are the ones given in The New Oxford Style Manual and The Chicago Manual of Style.

Abbreviations of days:

Oxford	Chicago
Sun.	Sun.
Mon.	Mon.
Tue.	Tue.
Wed.	Wed.
Thur.	Thurs.
Fri.	Fri.
Sat.	Sat.

 

Note the only difference, which is the abbreviation of Thursday.
